Job summary

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Purchasing, Sales, Quality Control, or Engineering.
  • Knowledge of Supply chain management.
  • Ability to negotiate based on logic.
  • Ability to manage cost.
  • Ability to manage customer/supplier relationships.
  • Ability to develop and present a clear and concise proposal.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Strong cost analysis skills.

Responsibilities

  • Researching, evaluating, and buying automotive components for each new model trial event.
  • Correlating and selecting suppliers to ensure stable quality, competitive cost, and on-time delivery.
  • Maintaining excellent communications with suppliers regarding design changes of trial and mass production products.
  • Issuing Supplier Documents – contracts, agreements, forecasts, RFQ, Maker Layout Letter, etc.
  • Developing, gaining approval, and executing purchasing strategies for assigned commodities & suppliers.
  • Achieving new model and mass production cost targets through effective supplier selection & negotiation.
  • Maintaining effective supplier relationship management.
  • Maintaining supplier documents through Q-Pulse.
  • Communicating with suppliers for RFQ, event orders, pricing and terms.
  • Developing products with supplier through new model event process.

Stanley Electric is looking for an experienced Buyer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is adept at developing supplier relationships and can demonstrate exceptional negotiating skills.

Our London, Ohio facility houses lighting and mold design, construction, production engineering, and dedicated associates in our Quality, Assembly, Sales, and Customer Service departments. WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

HOW YOU WILL QUALIFY:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing, Business or related field or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of one year of experience in Purchasing, Sales, Quality Control, or Engineering.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Supply chain management
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate based on logic

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Lifting (max 40lbs) 0.5 hours per day
  • Manufacturing Environment 0.5 hour per day
  • Domestic and international travel may be required on occasion.
  • Required to work overtime (unplanned and unscheduled) to meet deadlines and requirements
