The Purchasing Division of the Finance Department with the City of Springfield is responsible for the solicitation of a wide array of products and services. The Purchasing Assistant II will support the department in the solicitations of products and services by preparing bid documents, purchase orders, letters and contracts as well of routine office management functions.
The Purchasing Division represents the City of Springfield to many businesses and organizations on a local and national level. The departmental goal is to solicit the needed products or services at the lowest and best price deemed to be in the best interest of the City and offer fair bidding through the RFP, IFB, IFIB and RFQu processes.
