This positionis responsible for processing purchasing card transactions and preparingmonthly departmental reports, including requesting, collecting, coding,scanning, and submitting receipts for management approval. The PurchasingAssistant procures goods and services in support of departmental needs bymanaging inventory levels, obtaining and comparing vendor quotations,coordinating deliveries, monitoring expenditures to align with budgetaryrequirements, and purchasing office supplies, breakroom items, vehiclelicenses, and registrations. Additionally, the role coordinates and managesdepartmental and campus events, processes utility invoices, and maintainsrecords of campus utility usage to support operational tracking and reporting.
The PurchasingAssistant also administers the department clothing program by managing theclothing budget, coordinating purchases, maintaining accurate records, andcommunicating clothing allowance balances to department staff. This positionrequires strong organizational, customer service, and financial reconciliationskills, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities while ensuringaccuracy and compliance with institutional policies and procedures.
Qualifiedcandidates will hold an associate degree and three to five years of experiencein a purchasing, business administration, or accounting role. Knowledge ofdatabase, spreadsheet, and word processing software is required. Excellentorganizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are necessary.
Preferredcandidates will have the ability to work independently and understand basicaccounting principles.

Payrangeis $23.56 – $28.37 (or $49,000 - $59,000 annually). Pay is competitive. Ahigher pay may be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.
