Job summary

Jackson Comfort Services is a Cleveland/Akron, OH-based HVAC, plumbing, and electrical service leader seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to support growth and cost control. The role focuses on sourcing materials, negotiating terms, and ensuring timely delivery to field teams.

You’ll build strong vendor relationships, manage inventory, and drive cost-saving opportunities while collaborating with operations to keep projects on track.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of procurement, purchasing, inventory, or supply chain experience.
• Experience with inventory management systems and purchasing software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase HVAC, plumbing, electrical materials, equipment, tools, and supplies.
• Obtain and evaluate vendor quotes to ensure competitive pricing and quality.
• Negotiate pricing, volume discounts, rebates, and vendor agreements.
• Issue and manage purchase orders and ensure timely fulfillment.
• Work with internal teams to ensure materials are available when needed.
• Maintain appropriate inventory levels and coordinate stock replenishment.
• Monitor usage trends, backorders, and emergency orders.
• Conduct inventory audits and help reduce excess inventory and stockouts.
• Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and distributors.
• Evaluate vendor performance and resolve pricing, delivery, quality, and invoice issues.
• Identify new suppliers and cost-saving opportunities.
• Work closely with managers, field supervisors, warehouse personnel, and service teams to understand material needs.
• Support HVAC, plumbing, electrical, warehouse, and fleet operations with procurement needs.
• Assist with large project and equipment purchases.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records and vendor documentation.
• Prepare purchasing and inventory reports for management.
• Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes and reduce costs.

Essential Responsibilities

Procurement & Purchasing

• Source and purchase HVAC, plumbing, electrical materials, equipment, tools, and supplies.
