We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Purchasing & Inventory Coordinator to join our team. This role is critical to supporting our operations across multiple divisions, including alarms, systems, and portable fire equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for purchasing, vendor management, inventory control, and warehouse operations while providing exceptional internal support and maintaining accurate and efficient logistics.
Manage purchases across multiple divisions, consolidating orders to reduce freight costs.
Source hard-to-find and obsolete parts using technical resources and vendor research.
Support inside sales by quoting customers and tracking Work and Purchase Orders.
Update product and material costs daily in the Service Manager system.
Maintain and build strong vendor relationships with regular follow-ups.
Lead the bi-annual physical inventory for GPS and Sandusky locations.
Track inventory transactions, including shipments and returns, with accurate reporting.
Conduct daily inventory checks and maintain optimal stock levels.
Rotate perishable truck items bi-annually and restock extinguisher trucks.
Process product returns and RMAs, and monitor inventory credits and discrepancies.
Receive and organize incoming shipments and maintain updated order records.
Ensure a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
Manage shipping logistics, including BOMs, labels, and secure packaging.
Properly discharge and recycle used cartridges.
Deliver parts to field technicians as needed.
Complete truck sheets and update related Work Orders.
Review order acknowledgments to ensure accuracy.
File claims for missing or damaged materials.
Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.

Proficiency with basic math and inventory systems

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in purchasing, inventory control, or warehouse operations
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Must be able to operate a tow motor safely
Reliable and consistent attendance is essential
