Lidl US is searching for the next Purchasing Analyst to join our Food & Non-Food Promotions team!The Purchasing Analyst is responsible for supporting the managers with tasks to profitably plan for all weekly and seasonal food promotions, based on market analysis and company objectives. This role assists in proposing promotional items, planning sales, and setting retail prices for assigned promotional product categories.
What You’ll DoEssential Functions
• Oversees and manages assigned project and/or departments data, ensuring it meets predetermined contractual or policy requirements
• Conducts data entry and data management for various department projects
• Assists with the development of training materials such as manuals, handbooks, presentations, diagrams, workflows, and project plans
• Supports in planning and forecasting weekly and seasonal promotional assortments by the necessary deadlines
• Prepares promotional market analysis and propose new promotional products and strategy initiatives for assigned categories
• Analyzes past sales to adapt and improve future planning
• Prepares weekly market pricing research for promotional items
• Accurately maintains item planning in the promotional planning system
• Collaborates cross-functionally with various departments to troubleshoot potential issues and ensure deadlines are met
• Proofs and ensures information accuracy of items in the promotional leaflet and other marketing materials
• Monitors new product development timelines to ensure items can be planned for desired weeks
• Performs other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
• Ability to work independently
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong time management skills to achieve deadlines with overlapping processes and tasks
• Ability to work with ambiguity and strong attention to detail
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
• Financial acumen to effectively plan profitable promotions and sales
Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
• Bachelor’s degree
• 1-3 years of experience in a related field
• In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above
Preferred Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience
• Merchandise planning experience
Physical Job Requirements
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Travel Requirements
• Overnight domestic travel less than 25% of the time
