Paycom - ATS in Daly City, CA is hiring a Purchasing Agent I to manage procurement for assigned projects, ensuring quality and competitive pricing. This full-time, on-site role requires strong computer skills, clear English communication, and meticulous order management, invoicing, and supplier coordination.

Responsibilities

• Purchases the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price.
• Prepares and manages order requests & purchase orders in purchasing software.
• Helps solicit bid proposals and review staff requisitions for goods and services.
• Updates and maintains user profiles, undelivered orders, returns & refunds requests.
• Sets up new ship-to accounts for punchout vendors.
• Manages the internal electronic catalog and works with vendors.
• Collaborates with staff and vendors on defective or unacceptable goods.
• Troubleshoots software issues with IT when needed.
• Researches and evaluates suppliers based on price, quality, service and reputation.
• Works with Accounting on invoice discrepancies.
• Manages return of expired vaccines for account credit.
• Runs open order reports and communicates status to staff.
• Assists with negotiations, renewals, and contracts with suppliers.
• Maintains procurement records and trains staff on procurement software.
• Maintains communication and working relationships with vendors.

Job Details: Job Location: Junipero Serra - Daly City, CA, Salary Range: $30.00 - $33.65Hourly, The Purchasing Agent I is responsible for all procurement and purchasing activities on assigned projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Purchases the highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible price
• Prepares and manages order requests & purchase orders in purchasing software
• Helps solicit bid proposals and review all staff order requisitions for goods and services
• Updates and maintains user profiles, undelivered orders, returns & request for refunds
• Sets up new ship-to accounts for punchout vendors
• Manages the internal electronic catalog
• Works with graphics dept and vendors on NEMS specialty orders
• Works with staff and vendors on defective or unacceptable goods and determine corrective action
• Troubleshoots software issues with the software tech support, when needed
• Researches and evaluates suppliers based on price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production and distribution capabilities, and the supplier's reputation and history
• Works with the Accounting department on invoice discrepancies
• Manages return of expired vaccines to manufacturers, for account credit
• Runs open order reports monthly (or bi-weekly if necessary) and email staff to complete order receiving's on delivered items, into our purchasing software.
• Assists the Purchasing Agent II or Purchasing Manager in negotiations, renewals, and administration of contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives
• Maintains computerized procurement records; conducts one-on-one training on our procurement software
• Maintains communication and working relationships with vendors
• Assists with any special projects, as assigned
• Must be able to lift packages up to 20 lbs
• Performs other job duties as required by manager/supervisor

Qualifications

• Completion of a high school diploma or equivalent
• Must be proficient in computers and ability to learn new applications
• Excellent communication, organizational and budgeting skills
• Demonstrated skills in problem identification, analysis, and resolution
• Detail oriented with a strong emphasis on accuracy and timelines
• Prior experience purchasing is a plus

LANGUAGE

• Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently
• The ability to speak a second language is an asset

STATUS

• This is an FLSA non-exempt position.
• This is not an OSHA high-risk position.
• This is a Full Time position.
