Job summary

Windstar Cruises is seeking a procurement professional to conduct global purchasing for food, beverage, hotel and medical supplies for its vessels and dry dock projects. You will manage loading schedules, negotiate with suppliers, and ensure timely fulfillment across global ports.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in business, 3+ years in purchasing in hospitality, strong Excel/Smartsheet skills, and proven negotiation abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field and minimum 3 years of direct purchasing experience in food & beverage and/or hospitality industries.
• Advanced skills with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word, Excel, purchasing/inventory tracking software and Smartsheet (MXP system knowledge preferred).
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in competitive bid process.

Responsibilities

• Manage global loading schedule and fulfilment of all food, beverage, and hotel provisions for assigned vessel(s).
• Lead sourcing initiatives for assigned commodities within regional markets to source, negotiate and award market bids.
• Manage vessel Quality & Discrepancy reporting and reconcile financials within voyage period.
• Process all vendor invoices and ensure payment within vendor terms; maintain auditable voyage files.
• Collaborate with Director of Hotel Operations and Hotel General Manager to support onboard purchasing standards and processes.

Job Summary:

Conduct procurement and general purchasing activities to ensure timely fulfilment of all food, beverage, hotel, and medical supplies required by company vessels at established global ports and dry dock projects. Complete daily assignments in a timely and service-driven manner. Conduct procurement and general purchasing activities for assigned vessels.

Responsibilities

• Manage global loading schedule and fulfilment of all food, beverage, and hotel provisions for assigned vessel(s)
• Lead sourcing initiatives for assigned commodities within regional markets to source, negotiate and award market bids; providing regional guest experience, charter requirements, theme cruises and other special requests as assigned
• Manage vessel Quality & Discrepancy reporting, reconciling financials within established voyage period, coordinating corrective measures with vendors and vessel staff for assigned vessel(s)
• Manage order to delivery process for all purchase orders including vendor confirmation, delivery to consolidator, invoice pricing & specifications match prior to loading. Finalize validation and vessel receiving within 72 hours of delivery for assigned vessel(s)
• Process all vendor invoices, submitting to Accounts Payable as per defined process and within vendor terms; maintain detailed voyage files with auditable documentation
• Collaborate with Director of Hotel Operations and Hotel General Manager to support onboard operations with purchasing standards, processes, and development
• Collaborate with onboard operations leadership to support and meet budgeted guidelines for all commodities
• Develop and maintain satisfactory relationships with supplier partners, adhering to corporate objectives and ethics guidelines
• Plan and execute additional projects as assigned by supervisor
• Deliver best in class service to all stakeholders and lead with a servant’s heart

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, and minimum 3 years of direct purchasing experience in the food & beverage and/or hospitality industries
• Advanced skills with the Microsoft office suite, especially Word, Excel, purchasing/inventory tracking software and Smartsheet. MXP system knowledge preferred
• Strong negotiation skills and experience in competitive bid process
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with diverse audiences
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage timelines
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• CPM or Supply Chain certifications preferred
• International sourcing experience preferred
• Cruise line or hospitality industry experience preferred
