Base pay range

$60,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr

Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Purchasing Manager, the Purchasing Agent reviews inventory levels, places replenishment purchase orders, and takes all necessary steps to ensure the receipt of finished goods. Responsibilities include providing purchasing support for company projects and department personnel, placing purchase orders for finished products with specified vendors, and monitoring activities to ensure on-time delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities, including all other duties assigned:

• Reviews inventory levels by Vendor and planned orders to convert to purchase orders, while validating price and accruals.
• Provides Purchasing support relating to supplier communication.
• Prepares import documents and invoice validation.
• Updates Purchasing procedures and/or purchased product specifications based on changes or additions.
• Places Purchase Orders in accordance with all company policies and procedures.
• Expedites orders and resolves issues relating to Supplier quality or pricing discrepancies.
• Performs administrative activities including maintaining Purchasing Records, PO standard costs, and contracts.
• Coordinates with internal clients including Operations, Finance, Receiving, Sales, and Marketing.
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

• Must have strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask.
• Must have computer skills including proficiency with Word, Excel, and experience with ERPs, preferably SAP.
• Effective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present ideas, facts, and recommendations effectively.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years of prior experience in the related field.
• Experience in purchasing and sourcing is a plus.
• Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
