SUMMARY:

The Purchasing Agent is a pivotal member of our team, managing and executing the procurement of materials and goods to ensure timely delivery in support of our manufacturing operations. This role involves negotiating with suppliers to secure optimal terms, monitoring market trends, and maintaining a robust supplier relationship to enhance product quality and cost-efficiency.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Efficiently manage and distribute purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely adjustments as required.
• Conduct thorough evaluations of suppliers, focusing on factors such as price, quality, reliability, and service.
• Address and resolve any discrepancies or issues with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, product quality, or quantity.
• Monitor and expedite orders to adhere to production timelines.
• Engage in strategic negotiations with vendors to explore cost reduction opportunities and secure advantageous contracts.
• Ensure meticulous maintenance of all purchasing records and documents.
• Champion the principles of Lean Manufacturing to optimize procurement processes.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associate’s Degree in business or related preferred
• Two years’ experience in buying/purchasing preferred, preferably in a manufacturing environment
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills
• Resourceful and problem-solving aptitude
• Detail oriented and strong analytical skills
