Key relationships: All Departments, Suppliers & Vendors

Role Purpose:

Responsible for the purchasing of materials and supplies to support the product sales of the company. Ensuring proper inventory levels, good supplier relationships, cost management, and communication. Maintain reporting mechanisms related to Accounting, Sales, Management & Containers.

Requirements:

• Experience with Buyer functions is preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and negotiating skills.
• Experience with Business Central ERP system preferred but not required.
• Experience with inventory processes.
• Logistics coordination and tariff experience are preferred but not required.
• Microsoft Office experience, especially Excel and Word.
• Vista Core Competencies.
• Other Essential Attributes: Attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process Purchase Orders with suppliers for ongoing inventory needs based on MRP demand, forecasts, and new project starts.
• Continuous evaluation of Item turns to fine-tune Re-Order points to meet company objectives concerning: Turns, Stock outages & Inventory dollar investment.
• Track and ensure compliance with PO shipment dates.
• Work with Purchasing Supervisor in evaluating purchases for competitive pricing opportunities. Request quotes and seek new suppliers as opportunities for cost reductions.
• Work with Receiving to ensure accuracy and timeliness of receipt of goods.
• Assist with physical inventory counts.
• Communicate with Purchasing Supervisor and Sales concerning needed Stocking Levels, Sales Agreements, New Business, Phase-Out, or Decreases in usage.
• Accounts Payable: Maintain accurate reporting mechanisms for needed information.
• Oversee & process internal Purchase Requestions with Vendors.
• Support Engineering in their role of creation and maintenance of Item Numbers.
• Support Quality with Material rejections when necessary and Supplier documentation for QMS.
• Follow and support defined VISTA processes.
• Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives by thinking of ways and means to enhance workflow and processes.
• Follow all requirements to support Vista Quality Objectives
