Join Our Team as a Purchasing Agent at The Building People

We are currently accepting applications for an upcoming full-time Purchasing Agent position at The Building People. This role involves serving customer needs through government procurement actions, including placing orders against established contracts such as BPAs, FSS schedules, and IDIQs, among others. All procurement activities are governed by the FAR and related regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-award and post-award contracting actions.
• Utilize various purchasing procedures to acquire supplies, services, and construction.
• Ensure compliance with regulations related to sourcing, documentation, and ordering processes.
• Evaluate prices and assess price reasonableness using established references.

Required Skills & Experience

• Knowledge of solicitation and purchasing methods, including oral solicitations, calls against BPAs, and competitive open market purchases.
• Understanding of regulations related to sourcing and documentation procedures.
• Basic price evaluation techniques and arithmetic skills.
• Proficiency with software tools like FPDS-NG, ECF, FBO, E-buy, and others.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with the Federal Government is a plus.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma.
• At least two years of experience in contract purchasing or a similar role.
• 20 hours of professional acquisition training annually.
• Ability to pass a background check and obtain necessary clearances.
