Qualifications

• Education as stated: high school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's preferred.
• 1–3 years of purchasing or procurement experience (industrial distribution preferred).
• Familiarity with Epicor Prophet 21 or similar ERP systems a plus.
• Strong analytical and mathematical aptitude.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Team-oriented with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Procurement Execution: process purchase orders to meet demand and maintain stock.
• Inventory Management: maintain efficient inventory levels using Min/Max, EOQ, and related replenishment methods.
• Vendor Relations: build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Identify purchasing opportunities and negotiate cost reductions.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement Execution

• Process purchase orders to meet customer demand and maintain optimal stock levels.
• Secure the lowest cost for materials through negotiation, quantity discounts, and buying alternative products when appropriate
• Monitor supplier backorders to ensure on-time delivery
• Process monthly Rebates submissions to select Suppliers

Inventory Management

• Maintain efficient inventory levels using replenishment methods such as Min/Max, OP/OQ, and EOQ
• Identify and help reduce slow-moving or excess inventory.
• Assist in vendor returns to minimize freight expenses.

Vendor Relations

• Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Recommend products and brands for which BSC is an authorized distributor

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 1–3 years of purchasing or procurement experience (industrial distribution preferred).
• Familiarity with Epicor Prophet 21 or similar ERP systems a plus.
