Job summary

Tessera is seeking a Purchasing Agent at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, AK. This full-time, non-exempt role supports procurement for contracts, maintains inventory levels, and evaluates suppliers to ensure cost-effective purchases.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree in purchasing, finance, or business and 3 years of purchasing experience, with strong organizational skills and strict attention to detail. Background checks and security clearances may apply.

• Forecast the level of demand for services and products to meet business needs.
• Continuously analyze inventory usage and balances.
• Ensure that purchasing documents are complete and accurate with terms and conditions.
• Manage day-to-day relationships with suppliers through ordering, communication of demand/volume changes, issue resolution, feedback, and backorder follow-up.
• Maintain pricing history and other vendor records.

• Manage day-to-day business relationships with key suppliers through supporting activities including ordering, communication of demand/volume/delivery time changes, issue resolution, sharing of end user feedback, and follow-up on backorders.
• Maintain pricing history and other vendor records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in purchasing, finance, or business preferred.
• Three (3) years of purchasing experience preferred.
• Must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.

May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.

Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.

Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
