Job summary

Tessera is seeking a Dispatcher for the Transportation Shop at Oak Harbor, WA, to assign vehicles and drivers for government freight and passenger transport, ensuring availability and compliance with security requirements.

The role requires a valid state driver’s license, ability to obtain security clearances, and a background check. This full-time position is onsite at the Naval facility with union representation and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Transportation.
  • A valid state driver’s license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain Tessera’s insurance.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access.
  • A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Assign vehicles to drivers to provide transportation for approved government business while ensuring the efficient and effective use of vehicles and drivers.
  • Ensures vehicles are cleaned and ready for issue – has basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and can communicate issues to maintenance staff.
  • Maintain a system of gathering information to update fleet inventory and service records by ensuring that outgoing odometer mileage, destination, and estimated time of return, as well as return odometer mileage, return time, information from vehicle users, and other observable necessary maintenance and repair work are recorded.
  • Leverage GPS system to record vehicle location and mileage.
  • Manage information in Tessera and Navy Maximo, including work orders, vehicle information, warranties, maintenance data, and costs.
  • Communicate with Navy Transportation personnel and provides information and reports.
  • Monitor the actual release and return of fleet vehicles to ascertain the current location and user of each vehicle by establishing and/or maintaining a standard system of recording the release of the vehicle to and the return of the vehicle from the user.
  • Schedule servicing of fleet vehicles, including lubrication, oil and filter changes, body and engine repair, tires, necessary warranty work, and cleaning of vehicles to ensure efficient and sound operating condition.
  • Issue keys and a Fleet card with the vehicle.
  • Maintain records in contractor-approved information system.
  • Provide backup support for facility key issues when locksmiths are in the field.
  • Provide backup support for warehouse functions when needed.
  • Manage information in Maximo, including work orders, vehicle information, warranties, and maintenance data.
  • All Other Duties as Assigned.

Work Schedule: Full Time, Temporary (Not to exceed 100 days without union approval)

Compensation: $33.06 - $33.06 per hour

The Dispatcher is responsible for the assignment of motor vehicles and drivers for the conveyance of freight or passengers and complies with lists of available vehicles.

Additional responsibilities include the issuance of keys, record sheets, and driver credentials.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:
  • Assign vehicles to drivers to provide transportation for approved government business while ensuring the efficient and effective use of vehicles and drivers.

Physical Requirements:
