Staffmark is hiring a Punch Press Setup Operator in Brooklyn Park, MN, offering 2nd shift and a weekend option. You will set up and run punch presses, monitor tooling, and ensure product quality in a fast-paced environment.

Location: Brooklyn Park, MN
$26.00 - $29.00 per hour
Schedule:

  • 2nd Shift: Monday-Thursday, 2:00 PM-12:30 AM
  • Weekend Shift: Friday-Sunday, 6:00 AM-6:30 PM

As a Punch Press Setup Operator, you’ll set up and operate metal stamping equipment while ensuring quality, safety, and production standards are met. You’ll work with progressive dies, stage tooling, and coil handling equipment, perform first and last piece inspections, troubleshoot tooling issues, and support production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Technical training or manufacturing education is beneficial.
Experience Requirements
  • 2+ years of punch press setup experience with progressive and/or stage tooling
  • Experience operating punch presses ranging from 45 to 400 tons
  • Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges
  • Blueprint reading, troubleshooting, and quality inspection experience preferred

  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing, quality systems, or continuous improvement practices is considered an asset.
  • Individuals who demonstrate mechanical ability, reliability, teamwork, and a commitment to quality are well positioned for success as a Punch Press Setup Operator.

Physical Capabilities

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive production tasks throughout the shift.
  • Frequently lift up to 25 lbs. Occasionally lift up to 35 lbs.
  • Ability to safely operate manufacturing equipment while maintaining awareness of moving machinery.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment and work safely in a manufacturing environment.
