Set up and operate progressive tooling and punch presses for metal stamping parts.
To achieve success as a Punch Press Setup/Operator, each essential duty must be performed. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these duties. The minimum requirements, knowledge, skills and abilities necessary for this job are as follows:
Education and Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred; or, one to three months of related experience and/or training; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Comprehension/Communication skills: Reads and interprets documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals; fills out production reports.
Mathematical Skills: Adds, subtracts, multiplies and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; understands and reads blueprints. Ability to use measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, and height gauge.
Reasoning ability: Understands written, oral or diagrammed instructions.
Job Specific: Ability to use measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, and height gauge. Basic understanding of SPC. Experience with set up and/or operation of PLC units preferred. Forklift experience and certification a plus.
Physical Requirements (if any): Occasionally, walks, stoops, kneels, crouches or crawls; regularly, moves up to 50 pounds, stands, uses hands and fingers to handle, or feel; may occasionally move up to 100 pounds with the use of a dolly, cart or other mechanical equipment. Reaches with hands and arms.
