Job summary

Kelly Services is seeking experienced Punch Press Operators for direct-hire roles in Kearny, NJ. The position involves setting up, operating, and monitoring punch press equipment in a fast-paced metal fabrication environment.

Shifts are 2nd (3:30 PM–12:00 AM) and 3rd (11:00 PM–7:30 AM) with shift premium pay. Pay ranges from $26.40–$29.70/hr for 2nd shift and $28.80–$32.40/hr for 3rd shift, plus benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Experience with punch presses or metal fabrication.
• Ability to read blueprints or drawings.
• Experience using precision measuring tools.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shift.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate punch press equipment to produce metal components.
• Load and unload sheet metal and raw materials.
• Follow work orders, production specifications, and job instructions.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and part specifications.
• Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as needed.
• Inspect finished parts for dimensions, quality, and consistency.
• Use measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Identify and report equipment or quality issues.
• Perform basic machine troubleshooting and adjustments.
• Maintain accurate production records.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Follow all required safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
• Work closely with production and Quality teams to meet output and quality expectations.

This role is ideal for someone with hands‑on metal fabrication experience who is comfortable setting up, operating, and monitoring punch press equipment in a fast-paced production environment.

Location: Kearny, NJ

Employment Type: Direct Hire

2nd Shift: 3:30 PM–12:00 AM

Pay: $26.40–$29.70/hr, including shift premium

3rd Shift: 11:00 PM–7:30 AM

Pay: $28.80–$32.40/hr, including shift premium

What You’ll Be Doing
