Job summary

American Water in Butler, PA is seeking an Operator V: Pump Stations to oversee general operation and maintenance of plant and sewer facilities. The role requires on-call weekend coverage and a valid license. This is a full-time field position with emphasis on reliability and safety.

You will work with pump drive systems, generators, and control equipment, applying technical knowledge to prevent outages and support system integrity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license.
• PA DEP Class AE wastewater operator license required.
• Ability to work independently and make field judgments.

Responsibilities

• O&M of the pump stations and EQ tank facilities and associated equipment, such as pump control systems, standby generators, compressors, odor control systems and washdown booster systems.
• Position will be on call and available for alternating weekends during the hours of 3:00pm Friday to 7:00am Monday.
