Town of Stoughton Water & Sewer Department

The Town of Stoughton is seeking to fill one full-time (40-hour) Pump Station Operator II position.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Inspection, operation, servicing, and maintenance of diesel and gas-driven engines, electrically driven pumps, and auxiliary machinery and equipment used in municipal water/wastewater treatment plants and stations.
2. Adjusting and calibrating treatment equipment to ensure safe drinking water.
3. Understanding and operating SCADA controls.
4. Recording and maintaining daily readings and operational logs.

The daily schedule is rotational, including weekends and holidays. Employees are expected to work during declared emergency conditions, such as snow emergencies.

Qualifications include:

• High School Diploma.
• Either a MA Drinking Water Treatment and/or Distribution Grade I license (or ability to obtain within one year) at the discretion of the Superintendent, or a MA Class B (CDL) Driver License (or ability to obtain within six months of hire).
• Experience with jet truck and/or camera truck is preferred.
• Ability to pass a criminal background/CORI check and a pre-employment physical including drug testing.
• This position is subject to a 12-month probationary performance period.
