Distribution Operator Position Summary

This person will be primarily responsible for all facets of water system distribution and maintenance work, including but not limited to gate valve exercising, hydrant maintenance, meter reading, water distribution system and facility maintenance, and interaction with the public.

Hiring Requirements/Preferences for Distribution Operator:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Minimum of three years related experience and/or training.
• This is a full-time position with on-call duties, which may require overtime, weekend, holiday, and night work.
• Massachusetts Grade 2D Drinking Water Distribution license or ability to obtain and maintain it within six (6) months of hire.
• Basic mathematical skills, including applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Basic computer skills.
• OSHA 10 General Industry Certification or ability to obtain during pre-employment (company-provided online training).
• Obtain and maintain a DOT medical card and pass pre-employment drug screening.
• Valid US Driver's License.
