Job summary

ITT Cannon LLC in Colfax, NC seeks a Pump Mechanic/Inspector to support aftermarket repair and upgrades. You will inspect, test, and document pump components and assemblies, collaborating with Engineering and other teams to ensure quality and timely delivery.

The role requires reading blueprints, troubleshooting rotating equipment, and performing air/hydro tests while upholding ITT safety and quality standards. Weekend overtime may be needed to meet customer demands.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret pump blueprints and specs.
• Experience troubleshooting rotating equipment and pumps.
• Commitment to safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Responsibilities

• Provide work scope and material based upon customer requirements and specifications.
• Reports defects in materials, rework, missed inspections, job delays, and problem areas.
• Ensures accuracy and completeness of inspection sheets and drawings.
• Review and inspect running clearances of equipment before final assembly.
• Conduct final inspection of machined parts to ensure complete, accurate work.
• Perform final inspection of assembled equipment and document results prior to shipment.
• Safely perform air and hydro-testing of equipment.
• Adhere to ITT policies including Time and Attendance, safety and productivity.
• Keep safety at the forefront and work safely with colleagues.
• Partner with cross functional teams such as Engineering as needed.
• Produce sketches and drawings for machining of pump components.
• Inspect components and assemblies for precision; record fits, clearances, runouts.
• Escalate job-related issues to peers or supervisors as needed.
• Utilize cranes and/or lifting devices to move heavy equipment.
• Perform additional projects/duties to support business needs.
