Job Title: Pump Mechanic

Department: EESCO Service Department

Location: Baltimore, Maryland

Reports To: Service Manager

Job Overview

This Pump Mechanic position at our Baltimore service and machine shop supports EESCO’s efforts in the service and repair of high-speed rotating equipment such as centrifugal pumps, air handling fans, electric motors, etc., for a variety of customers marketed by Cummins-Wagner/EESCO. Markets include commercial, real estate, institutions (such as hospitals, universities/colleges, state and county facilities), municipalities, and industrial.

  • Possess superior communication, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Exhibit goal-oriented behaviors and time management principles
  • Apply extensive attention to detail to all tasks
  • Toggle between projects and responsibilities with ease
  • Operate test/measuring equipment
  • Have at least five years’ experience in all phases of the repair and service of high-speed rotating equipment
  • Possess sufficient hand tools experience
  • Basic experience with computers
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted and 100 lbs. assisted
  • High school diploma / GED or equivalent
  • Ability to pass background, reference checks, and a drug test
Scope of Responsibility

Working under the supervision of the Service Shop Manager:

  • Disassemble and inspect high-speed rotating equipment, either at the shop or at customer facilities, following safe working procedures including LO/TO, material handling/rigging, and hazard communication. Perform precision measurement and recording of critical mechanical dimensions.
  • Write condition reports
  • Communicate with customers and shop management
  • Requisition repair parts
  • Assemble, install, laser align, and test serviced equipment
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting
  • Utilize company vehicles, equipment, and tooling responsibly
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
