Job summary

Columbia Grain International, LLC is seeking an Operations Manager in Merrifield, ND to oversee a specialty crop processing facility. The role focuses on efficient processing, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance while meeting safety and quality standards.

The candidate will lead a team, coordinate with logistics and merchandising, and drive continuous improvement to optimize throughput and profitability in a multi-facility environment.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience, incl. managing a plant and supervising a team.
• Demonstrated project management and process improvement.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and maintenance instructions.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate operations for the special crop facility.
• Improve manufacturing processes to boost plant performance and efficiency.
• Oversee receiving, grading, binning, cleaning, processing, blending and shipping operations.
• Coordinate with Merchandising and Transportation to maximize throughput and profitability.
• Monitor receiving/shipping to prevent delays and demurrage.
• Collect and analyze facility data to anticipate problems and implement solutions.
• Oversee procurement of pulses from local producers.
• Ensure safety policies and HACCP/SQF compliance.
