Job summary

KOPA, Inc. is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to diagnose and treat health conditions, oversee patient care, and promote disease prevention at the Avante facility in Mt. Dora, Florida. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care for a vulnerable population.

The role requires leadership, strong clinical expertise in primary and acute care, and a commitment to ongoing professional development. Occasional in-state travel and on-site work are involved.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as Nurse Practitioner in a skilled nursing facility and at least 1 year in a supervisory role.
• Expertise in primary, acute, and chronic care practices.
• Knowledge of health and patient care regulations.
• Excellent communication skills and ethical standards.
• Team-oriented with positive attitude and ongoing learning mindset.
• Active NP license; board certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examine patients and review medical records.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (blood work, X-rays).
• Diagnose health conditions and illnesses; propose treatments.
• Prescribe medications and manage patient care plans.
• Maintain accurate records and schedules; inform patients about conditions and meds.
• Educate patients and families on diseases, prevention and wellness.
• Oversee overall patient health; lead and mentor NP team.
• Lead team meetings; assist onboarding and training for new NPs.
• Monitor performance and support professional development; liaise with facility leadership.
• Contribute to workflows, protocols, and best practices; travel within Florida as needed.
