PULMONOLOGIST

Position Overview:

• Work collaboratively with hospitalist providers, Nurse Practitioners, and Respiratory Therapists.
• Coordinate and oversee care for patients undergoing ventilator weaning.
• Manage respiratory diseases such as acute and chronic respiratory failure, asthma, emphysema, pneumonia, lung cancers, and others.
• Develop and implement treatment plans including therapies, medications, and interventions.
• Provide consulting services to other healthcare providers.
• Oversee the care of chronically ventilated residents biweekly in the Skilled Nursing Facility.
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as credentialed, such as bronchoscopy, thoracentesis, and ultrasound (including POCUS).

Essential Functions:

• Engage with patients, families, staff, and visitors based on ICARE values.
• Accurately document care in medical records.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and educate patients and families.
• Communicate effectively and compassionately about patient conditions.
• Participate in team meetings and ongoing education.
• Maintain professional competence and seek relevant certifications.
• Follow safety protocols and assist in staff training.
• Participate in quality improvement activities.

This is a full-time position, 35 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Active NYS Medical Licensure
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pulmonary Medicine
