Job summary

Mission Hospital is seeking a Pulmonary Stepdown Registered Nurse (PRN) to coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with medical providers. The RN supports pre-operative and post-operative nursing care and advocates for patients to ensure an exceptional experience.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, executing orders, documentation, medication administration, and maintaining knowledge of cardiac and medical-surgical care.

Qualifications

• RN with a valid license and current state credentials.
• Experience in progressive care or stepdown units preferred.
• Clinical competency in cardiac and medical-surgical care.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
• Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
• Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
• Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
• Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.
