Job summary

Mercyhealth is seeking a Clinical Exercise Physiologist to manage patient intake, assessments, and treatment plan development. The role includes case management, progress reporting, and coordination with clinical staff to ensure timely care.

You will perform exercise testing, prescribe treatment, educate patients on health behavior changes, and document outcomes. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Exercise Physiology or related field required.
• Master's in Exercise Physiology preferred.
• ACLS and/or ACSM/AACVPR certification within 3 years if no Master's.
• Current BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor patients: biometric data, EKG, history review, medications reconciliation, symptoms, exercise tolerance, mental health and diet.
• Perform submaximal exercise testing and assess strength, endurance and flexibility.
• Develop and modify treatment plans and implement exercise prescriptions.
• Lead exercise training; teach proper technique and safety strategies.
• Educate patients, motivate behavior change, and facilitate attendance at education classes.
• Document patient status and responses; report progress to providers and medical director.
• Maintain a safe environment and report equipment issues.
• Coordinate scheduling and referrals for first appointments.
