Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, North Carolina is seeking a Registered Nurse for Pulmonary Med Surg to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in the department. You will collaborate with medical providers and the care team to provide personalized care that aligns with nursing standards and practice models.

You will also act as an advocate for patients and families, ensuring excellent patient experiences and positive clinical outcomes.

Qualifications

• RN licensed in North Carolina or eligible.
• BSN required within five years of hire where applicable.
• BCLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• Grandfathering may be accepted between departments and Mission Health entities.
• RNs with 10 years or more of experience are exempt.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition on admission and each shift, reporting changes promptly.
• Perform procedures and document care in the medical record.
• Administer medications and monitor patient responses.
• Respond to patient requests and proactively address needs.
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment plan, medications, and follow-up.

Education

Registered Nurse

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or enroll in BSN within 5 years of hire

Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) within 30 days

RN with 10 years or more experience exempt
