Job summary

Mission Hospital, part of HCA Healthcare, is seeking a Progressive Care Registered Nurse for the Pulmonary Stepdown unit in Asheville, NC. You will coordinate and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care with pre- and post-operative nursing support. The ideal candidate has ADN, one year RN experience, NC licensure, and BLS.

Qualifications

• One year of RN experience required.
• Current RN licensure with North Carolina Board of Nursing.
• BLS Healthcare Provider certification required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition on admission and each shift, noting changes.
• Document care delivered and medications given in the medical record.
• Perform prescribed medications administration and monitor patient response.
• Maintain knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment for cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

Job Summary and Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

What you will do in this role:

Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

Required Experience:

• One year of RN experience

Preferred Experience:

• Hospital nursing experience

Required Education:

• Associate degree in nursing (ADN)

Preferred Education:

• Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN)

Required License:

• Must have and maintain current licensure as registered nurse with the North Carolina Board of Nursing. eNLC (Enhanced Nurse License Compact) license may apply, licensee should confirm with NCBON

Required Certification:

• BLS Healthcare Provider

Preferred Certification:

• National Certification in area of specialty
