Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks a Respiratory Therapist to perform PFT and CPX testing for all age groups, including neonatal care. The role emphasizes collaboration with clinicians, accurate data reporting, and patient-focused care.

Required is an Associate's Degree in Respiratory Care with NBRC/TCB clearance, Texas license on hire, and BLS certification; a Bachelor's degree is preferred and experience in pulmonary function labs is valued.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree - Graduate of accredited program in respiratory care
• Six months in Pulmonary Function Lab A.A.S
• Texas Medical Board License by the TMB Upon Hire and NBRC Upon Hire; BLS; RPFT/CPFT within 180 Days

Responsibilities

• Performs PFT and CPX testing according to department policies.
• Arterial blood gas testing.
• Assess patient effort/cooperation for PFT testing.
• Communicate with physician regarding tests and data.
• Maintain pulmonary function records and test data.
• Participate in inventory control and equipment maintenance.
