Job summary

VillageMD seeks a skilled Pulmonary Function Technician to perform PFT tests, calibrate equipment, and maintain patient flow across satellite offices. The role requires accuracy in vital signs, charting, and safety procedures, with training provided for on-site equipment and EHR systems.

Strong communication with nurses and physicians is essential, along with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain clean, prepared examination rooms. Travel to satellite sites as needed is expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
• BLS within 90 days of hire required.
• Experience with pulmonary function testing preferred.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates sound clinical practice in performing Pulmonary Function Tests.
• Calibrates PFT machine according to manufacturer’s specifications.
• Verbalizes understanding of record keeping procedure related to PFT’s.
• Maintains constant flow of patients.
• Prepares the examination room.
• Escorts patient into the room.
• Cleans examination room when exam is complete.
• Obtains vital signs: BP, temp, pulse, height & weight.
• Maintains all PFT charts in an orderly manner.
• Communicates effectively with manager and office staff.
• Demonstrates understanding of emergency procedures.
• Travel: Ability to commute to satellite offices as needed.
