Job summary

Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Of New England, is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join its inpatient pulmonary team. You will perform pulmonary function tests and arterial blood gas analyses on adult, pediatric and neonatal patients, ensuring patient readiness and calibration of diagnostic equipment.

The role requires an Associate in Science in Respiratory Care, 2–3 years of experience, and certification as a respiratory technician or pulmonary technologist.

Qualifications

• Associate in Science Degree, Respiratory Care.
• Two to three years experience in respiratory care.
• Certified respiratory technician or certified pulmonary technologist.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient and ordered diagnostic services to ensure adequate ability of patient to be tested.
• Ensure that all quality standards have been performed and are acceptable prior to patient testing.
• Prepare reports in an accurate and timely manner.
• Perform normal equipment maintenance procedures and maintain laboratory area as a clean and safe environment, disinfecting and/or sterilizing all equipment prior to patient interface.
