Job summary

The Deputy Chief, Publications at American Academy of Neurology leads the strategy, growth and impact of Neurology journals, Continuum, Neurology Today, and related digital solutions. You will partner with Editors-in-Chief and publishing partners to drive revenue while upholding the highest standards of scientific integrity.

You will manage a team of 22, oversee budgets, implement programs, monitor trends including AI in publishing, and advise on ethics and policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications, English, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in scientific, scholarly, medical, or professional association publishing.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Publications portfolio strategy, operations, growth and revenue.
• Partner with Editors-in-Chief and external partners to meet objectives.
• Oversee budgets, resources and program delivery; ensure governance and ethics.
