Job summary

Merck is seeking a Publication Coordinator to support SCIS publications and outputs. You will collaborate with managers, agency partners, and stakeholders to track updates, manage documents, and support planning and reporting across multiple Congress activities.

The role emphasizes strong communication, project management, and proficiency in MS Office, with potential travel up to 10% for major conferences. Hybrid work arrangements are available.

Qualifications

• BS or BA with at least 1-2 years of professional experience in medical communications, scientific affairs, scientific research, or knowledge management is preferred.
• Advanced interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Excellent project management and organizational skills to manage competing timelines and projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
• Comfort using AI and AI-enabled tools.

Responsibilities

• Attend monthly publication team meetings to build planning knowledge and assist the Publication Manager with note taking and meeting summaries.
• Independently update publication team meeting agendas and follow up with team members to obtain updates in advance of meetings.
• Assist the Publication Manager in developing and maintaining publication planning slide decks.
• Assist with other publication support requests as needed.
• Assist with congress planning activities, including development and maintenance of presentation trackers and document trafficking.
• Support development of congress compendia for large conferences and abstract planning decks.
• Travel up to 10% for onsite conference support and poster hanging.
• Complete ad hoc slide deck requests for publications, including post-congress metrics.
