Job summary

Merck & Co. is seeking an Associate Director Publication Manager to lead global publication strategies and tactical plans for assigned products. You will oversee Publication Teams, coordinate data dissemination, and ensure compliance with industry standards and policies.

You will manage journals/congress submissions, engage with internal and external stakeholders, and drive budget planning for publication activities in a hybrid US-based role.

Qualifications

• ,3+ years industry experience in pharmaceutical drug development.
• At least 2 years of experience in publication management.
• Strong scientific background in the therapeutic area of interest.
• Understanding of the clinical development process and outcomes.
• Knowledge of authorship and publication standards (GPP).
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional Publication Teams for multiple products and drive overarching strategies and plans.
• Lead Publication Team Meetings; prepare materials, agendas, and notes.
• Provide therapeutic area expertise to guide data dissemination planning.
• Lead development of Scientific Communication Platform/Lexicon for products/indications.
• Develop congress platforms and post-congress executive summaries.
• Present publication plans to management and internal/external meetings.
• Lead publication charters with joint venture partners; initiate Publication Committees.
• Track publication activity using Datavision and generate stakeholder reports.
• Build relationships with investigators, editors, authors, and congress secretariats.
• Select, contract, and manage medical communications agencies and writers.
