Job summary

The Village of Barrington is seeking three Winter Seasonal Maintenance workers for its Public Works Department. This temporary, 40-hour per week position runs December through March, with overtime as needed. CDL B with airbrakes is preferred, and a valid Illinois driver's license is required.

Candidates must be 18+, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be able to lift up to 50 pounds. Work outdoors in varying weather and operate power tools and trucks under supervision.

Public Works Winter Seasonal Maintenance – Temporary

Description:

The Village of Barrington Public Works Department is seeking three (3) Seasonal Maintenance workers to join our team this winter. This is a great opportunity to gain hands‑on experience contributing to the essential services that keep the Village running.

Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years old, have a High School diploma or equivalent, possess a valid Illinois Driver’s License, CDL B with airbrakes preferred, and be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis. This role requires the ability to: understand and follow instructions, communicate effectively in English, perform work outdoors in varying weather conditions, and safely operate motor vehicles and power tools. The schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. with overtime required depending on weather, between December and March.

Salary range is $20.00/hour for Non-CDL and $30.00/hour for CDL drivers. There are no benefits associated with this temporary seasonal position.
