Job summary

The City of Nacogdoches Public Works Department is seeking a Plant Operator or Trainee to support groundwater operations, monitor pumps and chemical feeds, and help ensure safe, reliable water service for the community.

Responsibilities include collecting water samples, performing standard laboratory tests, recording data, and performing preventive maintenance. Pay depends on license level, with added pay for higher wastewater licenses; training provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A valid Texas Driver license is required.
• Ability to obtain a TCEQ Class D Wastewater License within one year of hire (license pay up to $200/month depending on license level).

What You'll Do:

Perform preventive maintenance on buildings, grounds and specialized equipment.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED.
• A valid Texas Driver license.
• The ability to obtain a Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Class D Wastewater License within one (1) year of hire date. (Pay is dependent upon possession of Class A, B, C or D Wastewater License. Certificate/license pay up to $200.00 per month, depending on additional license(s) obtained)

Knowledge and Skills Preferred:

• Working knowledge of wastewater treatment plant operations, safety procedures and permitting requirements.
• Familiarity with standard laboratory tests and procedures.
