Job summary

City of Pasadena, Texas, seeks a Utility Worker II to perform skilled and semi-skilled work across streets, sidewalks, drainage, and parks. You will operate light to medium equipment and assist with stormwater projects, including inspections, with potential lead responsibilities.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, valid Texas driver's license, ability for physical labor outdoors, and willingness to work irregular hours and emergency calls.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of related experience or equivalent.
• Texas driver's license with good driving record required.
• Ability to perform moderate to heavy outdoor labor.
• Preferred: Texas Class B CDL.
• Knowledge in use of excavation equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operates light to medium construction equipment and assists with utility maintenance.
• Excavates trenches and maintains grades and elevations.
• Repairs and maintains storm drainage infrastructure and road surfaces.
• Cleans and maintains drainage channels and culverts for proper water flow.
• Assists with emergency response during flooding, storms, and other events.
• Responds to after-hours call-outs as needed.
• May lead projects by guiding and training less experienced workers.
