The City of Wylie, Texas, is seeking a Training Coordinator for the Public Works Division. This role develops, evaluates, and directs trainees, coordinates with city departments and external agencies, and maintains comprehensive training records and calendars.

The position requires a High School Diploma, 5 years in Public Works, a Texas CDL-A license for 3 years, and completion of Texas DPS CDL Instructor training with certification.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Five years of Public Works experience in a municipal setting or related experience.
• Texas CDL-A Driver's License for a minimum of 3 years.
• Completion of a CDL Instructor training program approved by the Texas DPS and instructor certification.
• NIMS training: ICS-100 and ICS-700 within six months of hire.
• NIMS training: ICS-800/ICS-300/ICS-400 within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Develops and provides classroom and practical instruction to new hires, remedial training as needed.
• Oversees continuing education of the department.
• Develops lesson plans, training aids, and training bulletins.
• Coordinates with external agencies and other city departments to provide training to employees.
• Maintains training calendar and training records.
• Assists in the preparation of annual budget requests for training; manages training budgets.
• Maintains training equipment and materials; develops specifications as needed.
• Attends meetings, conferences, and training as required.
• Operates a motor vehicle in carrying out department/business duties.
• Performs related duties as required.
