Job summary

The City of Ann Arbor is hiring a Public Works Tech I - Stormwater (Transportation). Starting rate is $23.50/hour with a 6‑month probation. You will operate equipment to maintain City streets and water, sanitary and stormwater systems in a safe, compliant manner.

Required qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, CDL Endorsement B with Air Brake, and CDL A endorsement within 6 months of hire, plus prior road or utility construction experience.

Starting Rate: $23.50/Hour

(This rate is non-negotiable and there is a 6-month probationary period). After hire, pay increases are dependent on length of service, advancement in the position, and other contractual factors.

Role Summary

To safely operate light to heavy equipment for the purpose of maintenance of City streets, solid waste collection and to operate and maintain water, sanitary and stormwater systems.

Training and Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
• CDL Endorsement B with Air Brake endorsement;
• CDL A endorsement within 6 months of hire
• Previous experience in road maintenance, underground utility construction or landscape construction
