Job summary

The City of Ann Arbor is seeking a Public Works Technician I - Solid Waste to support street maintenance, solid waste collection, and water, sanitary, and stormwater systems.

Starting rate is $23.50 per hour with a six-month probation. CDL Endorsements B with Air Brake required; CDL A within six months of hire. High school diploma or GED is required, plus prior experience in road or utility/construction work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• CDL Endorsement B with Air Brake required
• CDL A endorsement within 6 months of hire
• Experience in road maintenance, underground utility construction or landscape construction preferred

Responsibilities

• Operate light to heavy equipment for maintenance of City streets
• Perform solid waste collection duties as part of daily operations
• Operate and maintain water, sanitary and stormwater systems
