Job summary

The Municipality of Anchorage is seeking a Functional Subject Matter Expert for the SAP Project Costing module to support Road Service Area planning, budgeting, and financial controls. You will guide capital and grant accounting and coordinate with public meetings and departments.

You will lead professional accountants, ensure proper expensing of bonds and grants, and prepare reimbursement or capitalization reports. Remote work may be possible after probation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and seven(7) years of experience in accounting, payroll, or similar office responsibility.
• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Management, Business Administration or a related discipline and five(5) years of professional accounting work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Management, Business Administration or a related discipline and three(3) years of professional accounting work experience.
• A CPA or CMA certificate and three (3) years of professional accounting work experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform SME duties for SAP PS module and assist other departments in SAP Project Costing.
• Plan and direct RSA program outside Anchorage ARDSA; coordinate budgeting and financial control.
• Lead staff accountants to ensure capit al bonds and grants are expensed properly and prepare financial reports.
• Oversee billing for state and federal grants and TEA21 projects.
• Resolve citizen complaints through coordination with boards and contractors.

Education

Associate’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Management, Business Administration or a related discipline

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Economics, Management, Business Administration or a related discipline

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
