Job summary

The City of Appleton is seeking a dedicated Laborer for the Public Works department. You will perform refuse collection, operate heavy equipment, and assist with street maintenance and snow/ice control to serve our community.

Candidates must hold a Wisconsin CDL Class A with N endorsement and be able to work in varied weather conditions while ensuring safety and quality in every task. Training and growth opportunities are available within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• Experience in street maintenance, refuse collection and heavy equipment operation.
• Possess and maintain a Wisconsin Class A CDL with the N endorsement.
• Ability to work with the public and operate safely around traffic.

Responsibilities

• Drive refuse trucks on designated routes and dispose of collected refuse.
• Perform minor equipment maintenance, cleaning and repair.
• Assemble and deliver containers.
• Grind brush and yard waste; haul materials as needed.
• Operate a variety of City vehicles and snow plow tasks.
• Maintain attendance and work overtime as required.
• Plow and salt streets; assist with street maintenance and construction.
• Barricade work sites per TTC/MUTCD standards.
• Perform other duties as needed by the Public Works team.
