Job summary

City of Appleton is seeking a Public Works Laborer to join our team in Appleton, WI. The role includes street maintenance, refuse collection, and operation of heavy equipment, with a Wisconsin Class A CDL (N endorsement) required.

You will plow snow, patch streets, and assist in utilities work. The position values safety, dependable attendance, and courteous public service, with full-time, on-site duties and opportunities for training and growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in street maintenance, refuse collection and operation of heavy equipment.
• Ability to deal effectively with the public and work safely near traffic.
• Valid Wisconsin Class A CDL with the N endorsement and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Drives refuse trucks on designated routes and disposes of collected refuse.
• Performs minor equipment maintenance, cleaning, and repair.
• Assembles and delivers containers.
• Grinds brush and yard waste material.
• Hauls gravel, leaves, snow, sand, and other materials to the work site.
• Plows and salts streets and sidewalks; participates in street maintenance tasks.
• Assists with asphalt paving, concrete repair, and other city construction work.
