City of Janesville is seeking a dedicated Public Works Operator to support street maintenance, stormwater infrastructure, and waste collection services. You will operate a range of equipment, assist with concrete and asphalt tasks, and respond to winter weather and emergencies. A CDL and a year of related experience are preferred.

You will work under the Operations Supervisor, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficient daily operations across the City’s public works facilities.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Class B CDL or ability to obtain within one year of hire.
• Minimum one year experience in equipment operation, construction, or related field.
• Valid driver’s license required at time of hire.

• Operate a variety of maintenance equipment for street and stormwater infrastructure.
• Assist in subgrade preparation, pavement cutting, and concrete work.
• Contribute to snow and ice control and weather-related operations.
• Support solid waste collection programs and landfill operations.
• Perform daily equipment maintenance and safety checks.
• Respond to citizen inquiries and emergencies as needed.
