Job summary

The Town of Apex invites applications for the position of General Maintenance Worker in Apex, NC. This hands-on role performs routine manual labor supporting the Public Works Department, including solid waste collection and street maintenance.

You'll work mostly on site, with responsibilities ranging from operating equipment to loading refuse, handling yard waste, and assisting with events. Must have a High School Diploma/GED and a willingness to work outdoors in varying weather.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Less than one year of experience.
• Preference for Class B CDL.

Responsibilities

• Operates limb chipping machine to remove limbs and leaves.
• Loads trash, debris, and junked furniture from roadsides with crew.
• Assists in unloading load at landfill or transfer station.
• Collects leaves and yard waste in residential areas.
• Uses Cityworks and smartphone apps to track work orders and time.
