Base pay range: $19.00/hr - $23.00/hr
Join the City of Pleasant Hill as a Public Works Maintenance Technician! This role offers an exciting opportunity to positively impact the community while developing skills in construction and infrastructure maintenance. The department is expanding with new equipment, upgraded vehicles, and additional staff, supported by recent voter-approved funding for infrastructure improvements. Your work will have a visible impact daily.
The Maintenance Technician will perform various tasks including operating equipment to repair and maintain infrastructure. The role involves working in teams across Water, Sewer, Stormwater, Asphalt, and Streets, depending on experience and education. Candidates should have general knowledge of tools, a willingness to learn, good communication skills, and the ability to work safely in all weather conditions. The position may be filled at Level 1 or Level 2 based on qualifications.
Physical requirements include heavy manual work and adaptability to all weather conditions. A full physical requirements description will be provided during the interview process. The position requires a background check, drug screening, and physical exam.
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent; vocational training is preferred. A valid Class A CDL with endorsements, or the ability to obtain one within 6 months, is required.
The starting salary ranges from $19.00 to $23.18 per hour, depending on qualifications.
