Job summary

The City of Eustis seeks a dependable, entry-level maintenance worker to perform heavy manual tasks in the Public Works Department. Under direction, you will operate hand and power tools, mow, trim, plant, and assist in building and facility maintenance, including carpentry and electrical work.

Must be able to read English; a Florida driver’s license with a good driving record is required. Work is generally Monday–Friday, with on-call duties during emergencies such as storms.

Qualifications

• No experience required; entry-level maintenance work possible.
• Must be able to read English as a prerequisite for employment.

Responsibilities

• Cleans and clears sidewalks.
• Mows, trims, weeds, waters and fertilizes city lands.
• Lays sod and trims trees.
• Installs and repairs streets, sewers, storm drains, irrigation pipes and road signs.
• Performs building and facility maintenance and repairs (carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing).
