Job summary

The City of Clermont is seeking a maintenance worker to perform sidewalk, street, and utility repairs, and to operate city equipment. This non-exempt role requires basic carpentry, plumbing, and related skills as well as the ability to follow safety procedures.

Responsibilities include responding to work orders, performing preventive maintenance, and lifting up to 80 pounds. A high school diploma or GED and a valid Florida driver’s license are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Valid Florida Driver’s License is required.
• Ability to operate and maintain city equipment and tools.
• Maintenance of Traffic Certification and CDL endorsement are preferred or required within specified timelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair sidewalks, roads, and utilities.
• Perform preventive maintenance and respond to work orders.
• Possess carpentry, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, masonry, and welding skills as needed.
• Operate light and heavy equipment and drive city vehicles.
• Attend training and complete required certifications.
